Taxidermy Chick: our product

We are a multi-generational family owned and operated small business.  

Each unique creation is custom made with all natural products, constructed with environmentally friendly materials and is free from all toxins.

This safe and environmentally-friendly method of taxidermy begins with the design of custom wrapped excelsior (shredded wood) forms uniquely shaped for each bird.

Once the form is designed it is wrapped with 100% natural cotton thread.  Cotton batting is used as a filler and steel wire used for stability.

Borax, a natural drying agent, is used for the preservation purposes.

High quality acrylic, water-based paints restore a life-like appearance to each mount. 

Display stands both for floor and wall mounts are made on the premises using solid pine and painted with acrylic paint.
